Robert Swan OBE is the first person in history to have walked to both the North and South Poles. While embarked on one of many polar expeditions, Swan crossed under a hole in the Ozone Layer–severely damaging his skin and eyes. This firsthand experience with the effects of climate change lead to the incorporation of the 2041 Foundation, Swan’s non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of Antarctica. Swan is a recipient of the Polar Medal and has been given the title of Order of the British Empire (O.B.E) from Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. His contributions have been recognized by UN, UNESCO and the UN Humanitarian Innovation to name a few.
